Jenni Scheid

Jenni joined Swistak & Levine, P.C. in 2021 after working more than 20 years for the State of Michigan's Department of Civil Rights, as a Law Clerk, Investigator, Manager, and Staff Attorney. She practices in the areas of landlord-tenant, fair housing, employment law, and civil rights under state and federal law.

Jenni graduated from Wayne State University Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science (with Honors) and History. A graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2002, Jenni was a Title Editor for Law Review and a member of the Student Bar Association. Jenni has been a member in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan since 2002 and is a member of the Labor and Employment Law and Real Property Sections.

While in law school, Jenni was a judicial intern for the Honorable Avern Cohn of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Jenni has also completed training programs through the Patricia Roberts Harris National Fair Housing Training Academy in Washington D.C. and Facilitative Mediation through the Resolution Center of Macomb County.

Jenni serves as the firm’s Fair Housing Specialist. She helps guide clients through all aspects of fair housing challenges including accommodation requests, responding to administrative complaints with state and federal agencies, and summary proceedings litigation. Jenni also provides fair housing training to housing industry staff. Whether a client has new employees, groups that are small or large, or wants the training in person or virtually, Jenni can assist clients with providing staff the knowledge they need to recognize and comply with all aspects of fair housing.
