At the firm since 1981, Mrs. Swistak is a member of the Property Management Section. She concentrates her practice in creditor’s bankruptcy rights, defense of fair housing and discrimination claims, and other property litigation. Mrs. Swistak also assists clients in drafting leases and related documents, counseling all aspects of property management, and conducting seminars for property managers. She has successfully litigated landlord-tenant cases throughout Michigan, including numerous jury and bench trials. Mrs. Swistak has also lectured on landlord-tenant law on behalf of Lorman Education Services and has presented issues on landlord-tenant law to Michigan district court judges on behalf of the Oakland County Bar Association, of which she is a member.

Mrs. Swistak graduated from Albion College with a B.A. in French and Political Science in 1972 and from the University of Detroit Law School in 1974.

Prior to joining Swistak Levine, Mrs. Swistak was a United States Bankruptcy Trustee and an attorney in the Real Estate and Capital Investment Department for Amoco Oil Company.

A member of the State Bar of Michigan, Mrs. Swistak is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. She also frequently practices in the United States Bankruptcy Courts for both districts.
